Small-scale biogas plants

Anaerobic digestion (AD) for biogas production is a proven technology that is well known in the municipal waste and wastewater treatment plants. It is commercially ready to use and has multiple benefits (energy savings, waste management cost savings, reduction of environmental impact, reduction of carbon footprint, etc.). The same technology can be applied to other organic waste such as agro-food waste. The motivation behind BIOGAS3 is based on the observation that, despite its multiple benefits, AD is not yet widely implemented in the agro-food sector, or its implementation varies extremely between the EU-27 member states. The small-scale AD concept (<100 kW), applied soundly in the appropriate locations, is a sustainable solution from the economic (energy savings due to self-consumption, waste management savings), energy (self-consumption and reduced losses due to near use) and environmental (reduced or zero transport costs for raw materials and digestate, CO2 emission abatement) point of view.

NEW Bio Digester

1.DESCRIPTION OF SYSTEM, a container based and scalable biogas system from 2 - 6 tones / day by only changing numbers of biogas reactors.

Capacity 2 000 – 80 000 kg/day (food waste)

Biogas production ~ 300 – 900 m3 /unit/ day

Electrical CHP output ~ 400 – 1 300 kWh / day

Thermal CHP output ~ 1 000 – 3 000 kWh / day

Thermal output only gas boiler ~ 2 100 – 6 300 KWh / day

Treatment plants produce large quantities of sludge.

In the municipal sewage treatment plants in Sweden are formed each year about 220 000 tons of dewatered sludge which about half of which is organic material. The sludge is nutritious and contains a total of 5000-6000 tons of phosphorus and 8000-9000 tonnes of nitrogen. Phosphorus is also a limited natural resource, and from a environmental -perspective and for resource management, it is important to utilize the sludge content of nutrients by agricultural replace mineral fertilizer with phosphorus from the sludge.

In addition to nutrients, there are also metals  and organic substances in the sludge. The organic compounds have partly originated products and materials used both in households and in industries.

A comprehensive certification for sludge in work for water treatment plants  have begun, with the connection with the Parliamentary targets for nutrient recycling of phosphorus in wastewater .The purpose of certification is to plant nutrients from the sludge to be acceptable from an environmental and health perspective.

38 wastewater treatment plants have been certified by REVAQ, according to the latest annual report from Swedish Water .

Sludge is a big problem across Europe and rest of the world.  The sludge continues to go to landfills or to the cement industry, while there is no access to proven technology and knowledge of how to interpret all the regulations that exist today. Sweden with a few other countries are still far ahead in order to process and develop qualified products that have a large benefits in terms of sustainable agriculture.

In addition, there is a demand for bioenergy in Europe where the treated sludge can be a new valuable commodity.  . In addition, do not leave the pellet of sludge few CO2 emissions from combustion.

Through our partnership with the Turkish company Envirotek, a leader in environmental technology in Turkey, we can offer everything from small scalable containerized water treatment solutions to large installations that cover a large urban needs.

All our products are scalable. See more under Products.

New cooperation with PlanetDISK® RBC Units

During the summer we also got a new agency, PlanetDISK® RBC Units, to sell a new biological wastewater treatment systems. Rotating biological treatment (RBC) developed in Turkey with our partner Envirotek who assisted planettek in their 10-year development of PlanetDISK® RBC Units.

New Cooperation  with Benli and Hexagon in Turkey in Waste management and Equipments.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Services

Ecosaver & ENVIROTEK works especially on designing and turnkey applications all type of wastewater treatment plants in the world.

Design / Engineering Services

Environmental suggestions and designs require more experience and special design depending on the project. ENVIROTEK doesn’t work standard solutions; it first works with clients to identify their problems and then develops solutions and designs for the optimal plants.

Biogas / Waste To Energy Systems

Ecosaver is providing customers from agriculture, industry and municipalities with turnkey solutions for gaining biogas and energy from waste. Biogas and energy can be obtained primarily from substances with a high portion organic matter. The residues of the digesters can be processed to compost and organic fertilizers.

Serious basic question for the future

The basic question is serious, how we succeed in creating a sustainable and resource-efficient society?

Should we reuse the essential nutrients such as phosphorus and organic matter from wastewater and thus recycling the traces of the chemicals that already exist in our society?

Or should we break new phosphorus, ie mineral fertilizer, and adding additional toxic cadmium into circulation? (If you break the phosphorus may be inevitable with cadmium.).

EU Commission wants to create a circular economy across the EU. The Commission adopted a policy package just before the summer to be set on the company's entire business models.

It should also apply rule interpretations from waste or products. That's what our company is working with. Sustainable business model for new technologies that enable Circular Economy mainly in the area of waste.

We are working to refine organic waste into valuable compost / Biofertiliser / Bioenergy.

We work with approved products all meet SBA approved system for sanitation of animal by-products under European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC No. 1774/2002) according to the current validation method.

All our products are scalable. See more under Products.
